Innovation is one of the hottest buzzwords in business. How do you cultivate and harness innovation? Eric Miller notes in Forbes:
As an owner of a business, in particular one that works with other companies to develop and produce new high-technology products, I have learned the value of innovation countless times. I have repeatedly seen that the fastest way to grow is by discovering new ways of solving problems and developing new products which improve efficiencies and create new opportunities; however, to make this happen, you need innovators.
But how? He shares four principles, including the importance of initiative:
Look for proactive behavior. Innovators do not wait for problems to become critical. They attack things before they are problems. Innovation is often about getting out there ahead of issues and being ready with solutions before anyone else.
