Dr. Head served as president of Rockford University for eight years, and continues as President Emeritus. Rockford University looked markedly different as a result of Dr. Head’s leadership. International student enrollment grew twenty-fold. Endowment growth surpassed fifty percent and substantial investments were made in capital improvements to programs, residence halls, classrooms, student facilities, and technology. All this was accomplished while simultaneously having each fiscal year end with positive financial results.
Prior to serving Rockford University, Dr. Head was president of Urbana University and vice president at Benedictine University. He has a strong background in business and the banking industry, serving as vice president for trust services at Toledo Trust Company and vice president for trust services at Northern Trust Company in Chicago during the 80’s and 90’s.
He has consulted with organizations, conducted research and authored associated articles, and regularly speaks to domestic and global audiences regarding matters of importance to higher education. Dr. Head serves on several boards, including two serving higher education. He and his wife, Sheryl, have three adult children.
Joining Hyatt-Fennell Executive Search as Associate Partner is a strategic extension of Dr. Head’s commitment to the academy. He shared, “I’ve long believed that there is no better life’s calling than to be engaged within higher education, ultimately serving as a bridge between the dreams and accomplishments of our students. Being able to assist colleges and universities in acquiring high caliber talent to accomplish their missions and strategies is in line with my life’s purpose.”
