Holiday Book Recommendation: Leadership Lessons from Navy SEALs

December 22, 2015

We are drawn to intensity. Dedication is fundamental to success and there is much we can learn from those at the top of their field. In few places do we find more unbridled commitment than with the Navy SEALs. Americans are fascinated with this group whose carefully honed skills and valor are at the leading-edge of our defense team. It’s little wonder then, that when one of this elite group penned a book about the principles that guide their leadership and living, it became an instant best-seller. Jocko Willink and Leif Babin led SEAL Team Three Task Unit Bruiser, the most decorated special-operations unit of the Iraq War. In their recent book, Extreme Ownership: How U.S. Navy SEALs Lead and Win, they relate stories from the battlefield and draw out the leadership lessons for all of us. As you leave the office, it’s our recommendation for a holiday read.
