When looking for a new position there is a plethora of tasks; often the most immediate and daunting is updating your resume. It is years out of date–if you can find it at all. You can save yourself this marathon by short sprints along the way. Updating your resume while in a position not only makes it more manageable, but the quality of the content will be significantly higher. When in the midst of a position, you are able to give specific and vibrant definitions that will fade after the fact.
Set a monthly reminder in your calendar to check your resume and update it with any relevant skills, accomplishments, and changes. This time can be an excellent time to check in with your goals and gain some much-needed professional perspective.
