Vice President of Finance and Administration - Midway College
Midway College is accepting nominations and applications for the position of Vice President of Finance and Administration. Reporting to the President, the Vice President of Finance and Administration serves as the Chief Financial Officer of the College. Responsibilities include leadership in budget development and monitoring; sound fiscal, cash flow, debt, and investment management; forecasting; cost analysis; compliance with audit and other regulatory agency requirements for fiscal accountability and reporting; contract, property, and liability insurance management; risk management, and supervision and evaluation of staff. In addition to the business office, the Vice President of Finance and Administration oversees human resources, facilities, and food service.
Midway College seeks an individual who has a passion for the mission and values of the institution and exhibits financial acumen and ethical financial management. The successful candidate must have the ability to see the “big picture,” understand how all the moving parts of an organization work together to generate revenue, accurately communicate financial information to senior leadership and the Board of Trustees in the context of institutional strategy, and work collaboratively with others.
Undergraduate degree in a business-related field (master’s degree preferred)
Relevant experience (experience in higher education preferred)
About Midway College
Founded in 1847 and affiliated with the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ), Midway College is the only Women’s College in Kentucky and provides co-educational undergraduate and graduate programs for working adults through evening and online delivery. Midway College recently refinanced its long-term debt and has taken other measures to strengthen its financial standing. The main campus is located in Midway, Kentucky in the center of the Bluegrass Region and 15 miles outside Lexington. More than 120 acres of the 200-acre campus are dedicated to the College’s equine program. Midway College also has an instructional site in Lexington.

Midway is located in the northern section of Woodford County in the Bluegrass region of Kentucky, an area with farms that produce tobacco, corn, cattle, and horses. The town is home to a major thoroughbred racehorse breeding operation, the Three Chimneys Farm. In 2003 a major streetscape renovation project began as part of Main Street Kentucky. New period structures and lighting brought new life to the town. Today Midway is a regional tourism destination with fine dining and boutique shopping. Midway, with easy interstate access, is just twenty minutes to Lexington and Frankfort and one hour to Louisville.
