Elizabethtown College (etown.edu) is accepting applications for the position of Dean of the School of Continuing and Professional Studies. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing, leading, and articulating a vision for the School. The Dean will create and implement a strategic plan in collaboration with the institution’s leadership. The Dean is responsible for cultivating relationships with internal and external partners to create innovative educational opportunities, both in-person and online, for a variety of learners (including, but not limited to, students seeking degree completion, workforce education, early college or summer learning experiences). The successful candidate will be an entrepreneurial leader and academic innovator with excellent interpersonal skills who can 1) build and strengthen the School’s programs, 2) proactively conduct market scans to identify new opportunities, 3) lead the School through changes in the competitive landscape, and 4) work to advance Elizabethtown College’s mission and strategic priorities.  Reporting directly to the Senior Vice President for Academic Affairs, this position supervises faculty and staff housed within the School in accordance with Elizabethtown College policies and applicable laws.


Requirements: A terminal degree or MBA; Eight or more years of experience in continuing or higher education; Previous experience in: employee supervision, advancing and promoting adult education, developing and implementing strategic plans, and budget oversight. The successful candidate will exhibit excellent written and oral communication skills and be able to travel for business purposes.
