Principal Faculty, Master of Physician Assistant Studies
The Department of Physician Assistant Studies at Emory & Henry College invites applications to fill a principal faculty position in its Master of Physician Assistant Studies Program. This position is a full-time, 12-month, non-tenure track faculty appointment with a start date as early as August 2020. The department provides a student-centric program with an emphasis on team-based learning, experiential activities, and a mission to improve access to high-quality, patient-centered, evidence-based medical care in rural and underserved areas.

Assist Department Chair/Director and other Principal Faculty in day to day operations of the MPAS and maintaining compliance with all ARC-PA accreditation standards
Provide student instruction
Provide academic counseling and remediation to students
Assist in overseeing student advising in both didactic and clinical phases of the 27-month program
Evaluate student performance, curriculum and program outcomes
Participate in student admission processes
Participate in the program’s continuous self-assessment processes
Serve on program, department, school and college committees as needed
Candidates must be NCCPA certified and hold an unrestricted Virginia state license (or be eligible for licensure in Virginia within 3 months of joining the program). Applicants must also have a minimum of 3 years of clinical practice. Previous clinical precepting or teaching experience for an accredited physician assistant program is preferred. However, clinicians new to academia are encouraged to apply and will have the opportunity to work in a highly collaborative environment with active and supportive mentoring and faculty development training.
