Founded in 1836 as Southwest Virginia’s first institution of higher learning, Emory & Henry has been educating students for more than 180 years. Emory & Henry is acting strategically and proactively to remain a leader in higher education. A new strategic plan was developed in 2019 to support the four strategic priorities, and as a result, three pillars now form the foundation upon which the new Strategic Plan is built: Connections, Access and Place. This new strategic plan calls for a new initiative - a School of Business. The reinvigorated business program will emphasize an entrepreneurial spirit to help grow local startup businesses and provide strong support for established businesses in our region. The new Business School promises to be an affordable opportunity for business students to gain a valuable business education with a solid foundation for future endeavors and strong connections to our region and beyond. The Business School will provide an active learning environment through internships, externships and shadowing experiences, project-driven classes, and pathways to employment opportunities.
