Associate Dean of Undergraduate Programs


D’Youville (http://www.dyc.edu/) is accepting applications and nominations for the position of Associate Dean of Undergraduate Programs. Reporting to the Dean of Nursing, the Associate Dean of Undergraduate Programs is responsible for the leadership of the undergraduate programs in the Patricia H. Garman School of Nursing, including the four-year traditional Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN), accelerated Bachelor of Science in Nursing (ABSN), registered nurse to Bachelor of Science in Nursing program (RN to BSN), and the Certified Nursing Assistant programs (CNA), including the program for the BSN students and the program for the community. The Associate Dean acts in accordance with best practices to support academic freedom and shared governance. Responsibilities include planning to achieve strategic initiatives, actions to support recruitment, retention, graduation, and success of students and alumni, and personal commitment to service, excellence and transparency. The Associate Dean for Undergraduate Programs is called to align D’Youville’s undergraduate nursing programs with best practices, using data in the all facets of the role.


D’Youville is a private, Catholic college located on the vibrant west side of Buffalo, New York. Founded in 1908, the college was named after the Patron Saint Marguerite d’Youville to be a compassionate place of learning for those from underrepresented populations to give them a better life, a tradition that continues today. Featuring an urban, growing campus community of over 3,000 students, D’Youville offers more than 50 majors in undergraduate, graduate, and doctoral studies including advanced certificates and accelerated learning programs, with nursing being the largest.


The successful candidate will have a Master’s Degree in Nursing from an institutionally accredited college or university (an earned Doctoral degree or a Candidate for an earned doctoral degree in nursing or a related field, is preferred); unrestricted New York licensure to practice as a registered nurse; three years (five years preferred) of academic leadership experience in nursing in a higher education setting; and a preference will be given to a Certified Nurse Educator through NLN.
